The European Association for Research on Services, RESER, will hold its 24th International Conference in Helsinki, Finland. RESER conference is a multidisciplinary forum, where researchers in economics, geography, sociology, management, marketing and many other disciplines meet to share the latest advances in research on services.
The conference main theme, "Services and New Societal Challenges: Innovation for Sustainable Growth and Welfare", highlights that services are embedded in the development of the present society. Service sectors and activities form an increasing share of today’s economies, and the success of new technologies creates and needs services. Solutions to the biggest societal challenges require systemic innovations, but also these innovations often manifest themselves as new or improved services.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Helsinki!
RESER (The European Association for REsearch on SERvices) is a network of research groups and individuals active in services research and policy formulation, mainly located in European countries.
The Association was established in 1988 at a time when knowledge on service employment and industries was scarce and there was a limited understanding of the role of services in economic and social restructuring.
There will be a Doctoral Colloquium in the upcoming RESER 2014 conference. The colloquium will take place September 9-10, 2014 in Helsinki, immediately prior to the RESER 2014 conference. The Doctoral Colloquium is organized for doctoral students at all stages of their dissertation project. This event provides a platform for students to network with other doctoral students and receive feedback, guidance, and support for their dissertation projects in a collaborative, open and friendly atmosphere.
